The Orphan’s Tale, Concluded

And it’s done.

I mean, there’s a couple months of very exciting editing and proofing work ahead, which I can hopefully finish a little faster than last time, but it’s done, and I actually love working with my editor.

I started this in the fall of 2002. In its snakey coils like two continents, four cities, three other novels and four poetry collections, massive, tectonic live changes, and the span of my entire marriage. It’s over. My girl’s story is over.

I’m exhausted. But there it is.

I hope it’s kind of good, but I can’t tell, I’m too close. I’m still in the Garden.
