Hail to Thee Raex Pocty

Whilst proofing the 2nd pass of The Orphan’s Tales, I’ve come across the most perplexing yet awesome typo ever.

In the list of “Other Books by” somehow, the title “Raex Pocty” has been inserted between The Grass-Cutting Sword and Apocrypha. I have tried and tried but I can’t imagine what this could be a mangling of. As far as I can tell, all my published works are accounted for. What is this strange Raex Pocty? I mean, I can see “Pocty” as some kind of weird version of “poetry,” but Raex?

On the other hand, I am now tempted to write something with this as a title.

  1. That would make a great biographical note one day. Even if it’s just a short story or poem you totally should!

It is, obviously, your alternate universe publication.

The raex has me. But the word after it made me think of poetry. Since Apocrypha is a poetry book, maybe they were trying to make a separate heading?

Yes, I am *such* a killjoy.

Raex Pocty is a small, somewhat confused child.

I’m not sure what he does (everything I’m comping up with is horribly cliche), but that’s just such a perfect name for a small, somewhat confused child.

  5. It would make a wonderful pseudonym.

Obviously, you must write Raex Pocty.
